Working in Home Care
Think you can make a difference in people’s lives? A home care worker is classed as being a “social care worker” as Personal and practical support is what social care is all about.
So what is social care?
It’s about supporting people to maintain their independence, dignity and control.
Care workers are “front line” staff who work with people who have direct care needs. They have a varied range of duties, depending on who they are working with.
No two days are the same for a care worker, as each client has different tasks on their care plan but duties can include:-
- Assisting with eating/mobility/washing/dressing.
- Monitoring clients health.
- Helping clients live as independently as possible.
Care workers are supervised by a manager and or senior care worker, senior care workers are always available in each area to offer guidance and support to other care workers.
